a shell is a car without a motor or tranny and sometimes an interior.yeah you could rebuild the 1.5 you said its non v tec so i'm guessing its a d15b7. like tony said i'd drive it till dies and then save up and rebuild the 1.5 or get a engine swap for it. hatches are getting real hard to find

 

The guy said hed only take $600 for it. Ive offered him $500, I know were only $100 off, but with my budget, that would help me alot. Im thinking about rebuilding the 1.5 and set it up for the 75 shot ive got sitting at the house. And I want to know more about a mini-swap. Any more suggestions?

 

the 75 shot might kill it.

buy the car and then search the net for a good deal on a used b-series engine. you'll need the whole "clip" (engine, transmission, ecu, uncut wiring harness, dizzy, etc).

 

If you dont have a job, get one, tell the guy to wait 2 weeks....if that (you could borrow from your family) and you will make enough to buy that car. if i could find a eg hatch i would pimp slap you and hand that guy $600 in a heart beat. lol. buy the car, enjoy the reliablity of hondas/good gas milage. and build up a d16 or a b series motor. i would just forget the d15 as far as modding, sure, you can rebuild them, but there are so many better platforms out there to choose from.

 

The Civic is gone. I called the guy today. I shall now start the process of kicking myself in the **** everyday for not buying that car.

 

rats, man. I was looking forward to the pictures of the mod process and the eventual engine swap...

time to look for another one!
