I want to buy a 94-95' civic?!!
 

Hi, I am a newbie here.

I am thinking about getting a auto 94-95' civic but not sure if MOST of them are reliable...because they are 15 years OLD...that's a really old model.

However, they are cheaper because they are a much older generation.

Yes, I am on a tight budget here and wants a used japanese car that doesn't require alot of fixing.

Should I get the 94-95' civic??

Are they cheaper to fix than the other civic generations?

Are they more reliable than other generation?:rolleyes::o

Honda should be under Reliable's definition in the dictionary.
Seriously.
All cars made by honda are reliable. you just have to worry about how they have been treated.
How much are you looking to spend?
If i were you, for the year-range you're looking for.. i'd try to find a 92-96 Prelude. I like their looks waaaay better.
You can pick one up for 2-3 grand. maybe less if you're lucky.

all civics are reliable? but what about those used 94-99' auto civics?

and I don't know where you are getting these "94-95" and "94-99" figures from. A 99 Civic is much different from a 94, they aren't even in the same generation of Civic.

92-95 Civics = 5th generation
96-00 Civics = 6th generation

I mean the 5th generation. If I buy one, Do they need alot of fixing?

very generalized question... obviously if there is something wrong with it then it will need to be fixed. If there is nothing wrong with it then it will not need to be fixed.

Totally get where youre coming from but you gotta be a bit more specific. If you cant be more specific here's what I suggest:

-Take the car to a shop and ask if they can do a pre purchase inspection..most shops can do it for under $100 and they will tell you all the big stuff that may need to be fixed or replaced

-Ask to see ALL regular maintenance papers from whoever youre buying it from. A 94 with the original timing belt is a disaster waiting to happen. Look for major and minor services with oil changes in between every 3000 miles or so to be generous (2500 miles to be conservative especially on a mid 90s car)

-Check the tread left on the tires to make sure they arent too bald, get a free brake inspection if your shop does that, and..

If you do these and the results are good (no major services needed or neglectful history) BUY BUY BUY

5th gens were the start of civics with good curves while still holding onto some crisp 90s lines and they have a lot of mod potential or can simply be a good, reliable daily driver
