i want to be a honda guy but i need a little help
so i'm looking for a car at the moment because my car at the moment is not reliable. after looking online i found a used Honda civic near my area and i was wondering if it is a good deal. not being a Honda guy myself i came here to ask the pros, you guys who really know Hondas.
so here are the cars specs
1995 Honda civic dx 2door
5 speed gear box
4cylinder
mileage is 129,xxx
from the pictures provided the car looks in good shape black exterior with grey interior.
their asking for $2,200 obo does this sound like a good deal, i know i have to get the car looked at before i buy it but from just looking at the numbers and details what do you guys think. is this too much mileage for this car because i know Hondas have a good reputation on lasting 200,000 miles. also the seller states that the car has a new master cylinder and new brakes. So what do you guys think?
ps the only prob i see with the car at the moment is that it has taxes license plates and their selling it here in California where i live. is it going to be hard to switch over the plates or no?
this is my first post here on the forum so i'm sorry if this post is too long
but thank you for any advice or comments

haha dont be sorry!! you would be surprised to how long some of the posted i have put up! this is nothing! welcome to the forum!!
i am from california too.
i dont understand what you are saying with the plates? did it come from an other state??
make sure he smoggs it before you buy it. here in california its a law that its the sellers responcibilty to have it smogged before selling it,
that is a great deel i love that body style, as for the dx i think that it has nothing power and that its a non vtec, but thats fine.
that is super low miles for a 1995
if you are serious about buying that maybe get a new timing belt, and water pump,
its good to see a new member!!
if you get the car keep it clean!!
sorry if my reply was too long!!! haha :O

yeah see when timing belt was replaced, if not you should get it done. Still a good price for that year with that mileage.
My 2000 has 170k on it, just got the timing belt done, but other than that everything works like new.....knocking on wood as I type this.

From what you have said this car seems to be in good condition. 130k miles is nothing for a civic especially if it has been taken care of. Ask the seller if they would be willing to get the car inspected before the deal is finalized. Also as a precaution, even if the car has been well maintained I would still give it a full tune up and start fresh as you are the new owner and that way you can keep track of miles on the high wear parts. Good luck with the purchase and I look forward to seeing your new civic.
