RE: What engine do I have? and does it have VTEC?

Does anyone know where the casting numbers are on the head, so I can tell is its a vtec head or not? the block says D15B7.. but the valve cover say VTEC.

RE: Honda Engine List(For those that dont know what engine is in their Honda)

I have a '92 civic VX h/b manual. The window sticker is IN the original paperwork for this car I just boughtand states that it's a (D15Z1 vtec-e) engine. This is the high efficiency lean burn 92HP engine. But when I lift the hood it doesn't have any markings on top of engine that state vtec, as i've always seen on other vtec engines.

Is there something on the engine I can check to see if the engine thats in there, IS the vtec-e engine it left the factory with?- If i'm not mistaken it also states on a sticker, assembled in Canada.
Thanks!

Minor Correction, not a big deal. I just see this a lot and people are getting misinformed from many places:

92-95 JDM Civic VTi (D15B SOHC VTEC)
130 ps @ 6800 RPMS= ~128 hp not 130 hp.

You can look for a VTEC solenoid on the rear passenger side of the valve cover and head. One solenoid = Standard VTEC. Two solenoids = 3-Stage VTEC.

I would like to find out if a 1990 1.5 engine block is the same as a 1995 engine block? (Honda Civic)
And will the head from a 1995 Civic fit on the bottom end of a 1990 civic?

Just answer the question dude. Or give us actual engine codes (D15B6, D15B2, D16Z6, D15B, ZC, etc)

We need more details as far as WHAT SPECIFIC MOTORS you're working with. Find the engine codes and let us know...
