Default Intrument Cluster help

Ok I started a project to insert Speed Glow to my Cluster. I spliced into two wires one power one ground. However now my RPM need does not work at all and the Speed Glow lights only work when the Headlights are on and the Engine is off. Once I turn on the car and power up the Engine the Speed Glow lights turn off and the RPM needle doesnt budge. I know power runs into the wires I spliced but I need to know how to fix the problem so power is returned to the wires when the Engine is on.

I have already disconnected the Speed Glow from the wires I spleced but power is still not being directed through when the Engine is on.

No i dont have a voltmeter ive tested the wires with a speed glow part and there is current because the light on the speed glow turn on when the key is in the on position then turns off when i start the car. Also i made a discovery that i may have tapped into my alarm because the doors locked and unlucked when i tested the current

Clearly you're using the wrong wires. Disconnect all your mods and get the car working again stock. Then come back and try again.

If it's a 1995 I have a diagram and could help you with the redo.

There are lots of wires that seem to be "power" and "ground" but they are actually used for something else.
