I never had a problem with the civic, the trunk isnt that long so i can park in a tight spot without bumping anyone.

 

Yes I could stick my head out the window too or turn it 180 degree's(ouch) or use the rear view mirrors but it would not be as easy or good of a view as a camera on my trunk.

And at night with the 2001 civics poor backup lights goodluck seeing anything.

 

you could mount a single fog light, and wire it to the reverse light switch...i seen a guy with a dakota do that, it worked pretty darn good, and didnt look to bad, (just dont get a round one) a camera on your trunk IMO would look dumb, unless you put it inside the bumper so all you could see is the lense, like on newer SUV's and stuff.....now that would look pretty tight....

 

You could always go for one of the censors that beep when you get close to something. Not as good as a camera but would be alot easier and i would think cheaper.

 

Well they have liscense plate pinhole camera's too! Its just a ring around the plate nobody would know the difference.

 

Man I work on a farm in the summer time and some of the stuff you have to bak up there is rediculous like semi's with grass seed bins that are so wide the miorres(sp) are pointless. Those are bitches to back up after those I would take my little nimble civic any day.
