Lifetime Seatbelts

Ive heard that Honda has lifetime warranty on their seat belts? Is this true?
Mine arent wanting to retract. Thanks

SPLAT 07-13-2010 06:16 PM

That is true.

But i belive you have to be the original owner.

It is true, and you don't have to be the original owner.

All you do is take the car to a Honda dealership and tell them seatbelts are not retracting properly and you heard about the lifetime warranty. They'll make an appointment to clean them and if that doesn't work they will replace them.

^ +1 only on normal wear and tear. not something that you did to mess up the seat belts.

Thanks guys, sounds more like a hassle to me. I will go talk to them. I wouldnt mind getting mine replaced as long as I wont be out of a car for a day.

trustdestruction 07-13-2010 07:34 PM

Well obviously you won't have your car for a few hours... what were you expecting?

sfazngiants 07-13-2010 08:39 PM

you will probably need to wait for couple days for the parts to be ordered and labor wont take more than 3 hours i would assume, definitely not a day. even though its a hassle, better to have a functional seat belt than not.

Oh, that reminds me. You'll really appreciate the difference. The nice new seatbelts hold you in your seat much better and it's just more comfortable overall. The cleaning usually doesn't work though so you'll end up probably getting them replaced. It takes two separate appointments... first the cleaning, then if that doesn't work they order the new seatbelts and you come back and get them installed.

This is as well with Acura?
I mean it's the other sister company, and mine aren't feeling the greatest either :/

I would assume so. You may have to visit an Acura dealership though.
