Hey - I'm looking to sell my '97 Honda Civic but don't even know if I'll be able to get value for it? I'd appreciate it if someone could look at the following specs and give a rough estimate on how much my car is worth (if anything), if I'd be able sell it and/or if I'd be able to trade it in for any value?

The car has an engine problem (don't know exactly what it is) that the local mechanic quoted ~$1,400 to fix. The car isn't drivable (it can drive but only at very low speeds and makes a noticeable sound) until the engine problem is fixed. This was a car I ran into the ground as I knew I wasn't going to have it for very long.

- 1997 Honda Civic 4-door DX Sedan (silver exterior)
-~190,000 miles
- Automatic Transmission
- Circuit City-installed CD player/AM/FM tuner that works but is somewhat worn
- engine problem mentioned above

Other known issues:

- OEM timing belt package
- weak radiator hose
- Rear trailer arms broken
- I believe the front engine mount is broken
- exterior of car has minor wear and tear but overall is in fair to good condition

Would I be able to sell/trade-in a car in this condition?

 

i just bought a 97 civic lx sedan and from the sounds of your problems mine is in way better condition for 800 bucks and it runs and drives great. post pics of your car.
