do these all crack? is it a factory defect? I'm trying to replace my totaled 92 and found a 96 but having second thoughts.

^Nothing lasts forever, especially under high exhaust temperatures for 10+ years

You could remove the DX one piece manifold / converter and convert to 96-00 EX style exhaust. That has a cast iron manifold (can be replaced with aftermarket header) connected to a pipe leading to the cat converter under the car. Basically the same setup the 92 has except there is another O2 sensor after the converter.

Ok, after a few days of testing, I installed a new manifold & cat this past weekend. No leaks so far, yet I am still getting the same mileage 28-30, when I use to get 35-38. (before I would get approx. 150-200 miles to the half tank mark) now when I fill up, I get just slightly over 100 miles to the half mark.
This is getting ridiculous, I changed just about everything. I have a flowmaster that I am replacing back to stock next week, mainly because I'm tired of the loud humm while cruising down the highway. Then maybe convert my short ram K&N to a full cold air

try throwing a bottle of fuel system cleaner into your gas tank. if you want to take this farther then get a new fuel filter, and even more would be to rebuild your fuel injectors, though i doubt that's the problem

or maybe you just changed your driving style without noticing it....

maybe. I ran seafoam in it a few times before, runs smooth. I changed the filter last year, maybe a new one wouldn't hurt, hell I spent much money on it lately anyway, clutch, timing belt, plugs, etc
