Modified Exhaust Ticket

So I got pulled over a few days ago for my exhaust. The CHP said I had to get its decibel level tested to make sure it is under the legal level. I lack the knowledge or experience when it comes to tickets and was wondering where I could get it tested at and signed off by a cop?

If you don't know where to get your exhaust noise measured, then call the district court (the number should be on the ticket somewhere). They should be able to help.

BTW, what type of exhaust do you have?

its a tenrai catback exhaust with 2.5" piping. Silencer is in it as well.

There's a couple numbers on it. The court I have to go to is Traffic Minor Offenses and it was the number. Is that the one I should call.

Just call and ask questions. Are you worried about sounding dumb or something? Every state is different so it'll be hard to help you unless we know what state you live in and/or if we know that state's laws.

I used to have a sh!t loud exhaust (megan racing), got pulled over, put a silencer on and within 3 months the silencer "stopped" working and the exhaust was just as loud as it used to be.

CHP = california highway patrol

OP, when you do go and get your exhaust decibel measured, let us know what it is and what the legal limit is.

I vote stock, or buy a non-coffee can exhaust. I doubt you need 2.5" piping, unless you're running a built NA civic or a little boost.

Well, when I bought the car it came with the exhaust, so I was going to replace it anyways. d:

Well, time to make some calls.
Oh, and yeah, I am really like shy when it comes to asking questions and talking to strangers haha.

Wow. I call the court and the number is disconnected. LOL
