new civic driver just a few questions

Heya! Bought a 1.6 sport ep2 2004 last night! Is it bad for the car to rev it right out till she hits the limiter for about 1 or 2secs n then change gear? I don't do it all the time only the odd time! Thanks guys chris!

I'm going to say.. yes.

Driving up to the redline is not good for any car. The optimal time to shift is before that anyway, as the horsepower output of the engine decreases at very high rpm.
