CX = lower than base model... made to be a very inexpensive car... these are hatchbacks only
DX = base model, usually no luxury features
LX = DX with some luxury features (such as power windows/locks, etc.)... these are 4-doors only
EX = LX features with upgraded engine and transmission, plus a sunroof
Si = EX with upgraded engine and transmission, plus "Si" badging and a few other differences. This is the performance model... they don't have a 96-98 Si though
HX = fuel economy model, has a very fuel efficient engine

So your options for a 96-98 (you said 96-97, but 98 is the same too) coupe are DX, EX, and HX. 99-00 are very similar though so you might also consider those.

Basically, DX will be cheapest and the slowest. EX will be the fastest (keep in mind it's still not fast, lol). HX will have very good gas mileage and I think they also have all the power options like the EX.

I Am a domestic guy im a chevy ford dodge man but i got a new job and im gonna be traveling alot sooooo im going with a honda BUT i dunno about the motors like whats better and what i should go with if im gonna be turboing it... i know about BIG motors like v8's like 302 350's 373 400 427 all that i know but when it comes to these lil 4 banger 1.8's im absolutly clueless on what to acually go with so some insight would be GREATLY appreciated

What do you mean by option?

All 92-95 EX came with the D16Z6 engine.

i was refering since he said he liked the 94-95 civic that all 92-95 civics are the same body style. now the best models to have is the ex or si for factory power and options.
