Hi,

I am Mark and a new user and new Civic owner. I just bought an 06 Civic LX Coupe. Love the car so far. I am interested in getting a new set of wheels and tires for it similar to the ones on the 06 SI. I am not too interested in paying the money that the dealer wants. The 06 SI has 17 inch rims and 45 series tires. The LX has 16 inch rims and 55 series tires.

I have two questions that I am sure have been asked before but I could not fine doing a search. I have used the online conversion tool and the overall diameter of the 17 inch SI tire is 0.2" differant as compared to the 16 inch tire used on the LX. Does this change the speedometer significantly? Can the ECU be changed to compensate for the differance in tire size? The second question is does anyone have a lower cost source for these types of wheels used on the 06 SI?

thanks,

Mark

not by much. You also have to have correct tire size too.
