Default Norm Reeves Honda West Covina- Service Dept

Ok... here's the BAD..I purchased a new 2012 Civic from this dealer.
After driving it for 1 day, I felt that the car was loose - after going over a bump on the freeway. I called Norm Reeves Honda in West Covina as that's the logical thing to do.. Yes they said come in ( yes because they would 'bill' American Honda ) for realignment. It APPEARS that all four wheels were out of spec.. ok
they adjusted . great- EXCEPT that the steering wheel now is 1/2 inch lower on the LEFT side. Upon returning, they said- yes it is OFF- BUT its within 'spec' this was even told to me by their service director - Mike R>>>>. NEEDLESS to say I have a case # with Honda now.., a few calls to their GM resulted in.. yes we can attempt to realine the tires. I don't trust them now as one can simply toe out the right front to PULL the steering wheel center.....stay away- be warned my fellow Honda Civic brothers!

Its a real shame that they are being shady within the first week of ownership. I wish you the best of luck, and you might want to find out how to contact Honda and inform them. I bet they would love to set that dealership straight.

One problem is that manufacturers don't pay dealers very much for warranty work. So the dealer tends to rush through it.

The steering wheel would stay centered during toe-in adjustment by turning the tie rods the same amount on both sides (which takes longer) rather than doing the whole adjustment from one side. It's not rocket science. Now that it is off-center, it can be re-centered without affecting the alignment by turning the tie rods an equal amount in opposite directions.

Thanks for the replies.. yes I'm aware of the tie rods solution. But I would like it to be performed via computer alingment vs strings and other means.
The SH_ _ only has 400+ miles on it now. I guess the whole point is that I FYI others so they do not have to experience this SUBPAR service.
Some one mentioned that they receive very little from A, Honda...yes the service writer mentioned that and they fall back on 'it's within spec. If we all use this in our daily lives, we will always be half A_ _ in our objectives in life.
Thanks again

As I see it the first mistake was to buy a New Car. You loose 20% the minute you sign the paperwork. Second dealers are the last place I would go for work.
