Default Okay...Round Two

I install DSL and phones for a living. I had a customer who is opening a tuner shop, got to talking to him and he has a guy who wants to sell his 1994 honda civic dx coupe...purple, everything stock, still runs with 200,000 mi. He wants 800.00 for it. I'll need to save for a couple of weeks but I'm right back in the game. Any thoughts...

well ok...it still runs...but how well?? how is the body?? rust?? dents??

if it still runs pretty strong for 200k, and has none or little rust and body damage, then 800 is pretty good deal.

think of it this way, you can switch out the motor easy, rust and stuff is more of a pain but can still be fixed. the only thing you REALLY need to worry about when a buying a car like that, is the frame. since you spending so little for it, paying to replace parts or whatever shouldnt be to much or a problem. its all on what you wanna do.

bottom line...if you want to just have it to have it, then you might want to look into the motor quality, suspention such as c joins and such and all that crap. if your gonna re build it, just make sure the thing wont snap in 2 on you.

I talked to the guy and he say's the car is "clean". I plan on making a sleeper. The wife will think i'm being responsible buying an economy car, meanwhile when you lift the hood, somebody snuck a B18C5 in there. That's where I'm going with this. A 1994 is OBD I, right? If so, do I need a wire harness swap for a B18C5???

i would go for it..thats really cheap, and if your gunna do a swap dosn't matter about how much miles are on it..as long as the body is good and the inside is clean

Sweet deal man. Like DCA said, look it over top to bottom and make sure there is no major body or suspension damage and you should be all set.

When, oh when will a deal like this fall into my lap??

Yeah like these guys said, if the body is good and little to no rust and nothing wrong with the frame 800 is a great price.

I guess most of us agree. Check the body and if it's okay, go for it. Good Deal!!

Do I convert the B18C5 to an OBD I??? I think a 1994 is OBD I, so why would I need a new harness???
