RE: pros and cons

like everyone says very reliable and when something is wrong its something stupid, and great on gas, i laughed today when ppl stomed the last gastion today at 3.31 a gallon cause everyone else was at 3.60...lol...i fell sorry for ppl you have the hummers and big ol suvs....lol

RE: pros and cons

This guy was driving his mustang in front of me today and the whole way back he was going 45 mph where I normally go 60 aswell as most cars.... I bet it was becausehe was trying to get good mpg, but who would buy a car like that if they're afraid of using too much gas? Same thing with the hummers and suv's like mentioned. I mean for one thing hummers are ment to go off road it's sooo stupid for someone to buy one of those and then commute with it. They are just trying to show off and show prosperity but to me it shows ignorance...

RE: pros and cons

Pros

- Pretty good gas mileage
- Pretty good longevity
- Decent aesthetics for a subcompact
- Pretty good versatility and interior space in such a small package
- Fits fairly small parking spots
- 'Seems generally easy to work on (so far)
- Good aftermarket support
- Good availability of OEM-type parts
- Decent comfort for such a small car if you're not over 5'10"
- Relative "quality feel" to controls for subcompact...good engineering, ergonomics, and execution
- Generally excellent resale value
- More than adequate stock power for some, even at altitude
- Decent handling stock, and much better with little work
- Broad range of trims/options/body-styles

Cons

- One collision over 5-10MPH and the car could probably be totalled
- A simple timing-belt failure could lunch the motor
- Interior doesn't clean as easily as a Wrangler's
- Generally high purchase cost for compact/subcompact
- Not enough weight over front axle for uphill traction in snow
- 4ppl is ok, but 4ppl with luggage is pushing it on weight cap.
- Wimpy horn
- Headlights relatively difficult to reach when simply changing
- Coupe should actually be a hatch to fit larger items
- AWD is no longer an option
