don't get fast blinkers
I saw the thread where someone suggested to "get fast blinkers"... I am actually trying to trouble shoot my fast blinker problem. The guy I bought the car from says he had the rear turn signal bulbs replaced. Mine blink red, I am assuming stock are orange or yellow. The left blinker sometimes blinks fast, sometimes really slow, some times normal. Its very annoying, ghetto, and unnerving with a cop being you. The right blinker is fine, its just the left. When its blinking fast I can flip on the head lights and cause it to blink really slow, which is less annoying then really fast. Should I just swap out the bulbs or is the regulator busted? I'm going to swap the bulbs, having yellow in the front and red in the back is not stock is it?

RE: don't get fast blinkers
If it is blinking, and also making a the indicator clicking sound, very quickly.. it usually means the the wires are loose.. the quick flashing doesnt mean the light is blinking quick.. it means it isnt blinking at all..
I had this problem off of my after market tails last week.. check your wires.

Actually I checked it and it is blinking fast, and both lights are blinking at the speed of the indicator light. I wiggled the connection, but maybe there is a short or something somewhere else. I'll check. Thanks for the advise

Also check the blinker relay switch. The little tiny black box that plugs into the fuse panel (or near it). Im pretty sure Civics have these. I know most other cars do. Its about a $7 fix from your local auto parts store. Walk up to the parts counter and ask for the blinker relay.
