question about y8 blocks to y7 block

Default question about y8 blocks to y7 block

what is diffenrt about the blocks between a d16y7 and a d16y8 from what i hear nothing. it is the head that nakes it diffnert

There actually is a difference. They are hand and ahnd pretty much the same (they can interchange parts) buy the Y8 block utilizes VTEC. Now, a Y8 head merged with a Y7 block will be VTEC. Its called a mini-me swap.

There is absolutly nothing different between the blocks. Same pistons, stroke, bore size, compression.

The difference comes in form of the head, intake manifold, and ecu.

The block is identical remy only the head is different.
