Quick spark plug question

Hi,

Just installed new spark plugs using the guide from here (https://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_228112/tm.htm).

I noticed after I installed them that I was supposed to tighten using a torque wrench after tightening by hand. I only, however, tightened by hand. I started the car - it works great.

Any potential problems by not tightening by torque wrench?

Technically, you're supposed to tighten every bolt on the car with a torque wrench, there is a spec for every single one. Rule of thumb is, once you screw in the plug and it's getting tight, turn it about 1/4-1/2 of a turn.

Great! So it shouldn't be a problem then.:D

Thanks!

PS. If you never see me post again on these forums, then you'll know not to skip the torque wrench.

Yup. There is even a torque spec for the shift knob. Which for a 96-00 Civic is 5.4 ft pounds BTW. LOL I found that out when I was looking through the schools car software.
