Default Racing question

I have a 91 civic hatchwith a b18a1 swap. No interior. steering wheel, seat, and a shifter only.

There is a guy at my work with a 03 mustang gt with cold air intake talking noise. He keeps wanting a money race. I think i can beat him in the 1/8. I am getting mixed opinions. What do you all think?

hmm...i think you can beat him if you get traction...also, is the GT an auto or a 5 speed? i wouldnt bet him big money...just like $10-20 something small....(depending on your wallet) there was a kid with an 02 V6 auto at work that kept running his mouth, and i walked him with my stalk 98 dx....(interior and all that good stuff...actually had 2 passengers) well, i cant say "walked him" because neither car is really all that fast.....but i beat him by about a car on a top speed run.

Im not sure how good either of your driving abilities are..but you should be able to beat him with a gutted EG with a b18....

Only one way to find out. Put down the mouse, grab the shifter, and go racing

his gt is a 5 spd. I do think it is all about who gets traction out the hole. I just don't want to start talking back if he is going to beat me by 3 cars.

like forty said...just do it..its the only way to find out for sure.

see if you can race from like a 35mph roll...(or are you going to do it on the track?) that should put him out of his power band or close to his shift point. and should be better for you. (not sure on the gearing of either cars.)

I have a honda civic (85-90) not really sure on the year but need to know if they make chips for any of thos year. If so were could I find a place to get it. I race round track and was winning but now the car has fallen to a pinto and toyota in power by half a car. I have the smallest engine in the whole class ( 1.5 )but the Honda just pulls from turn to turn where theirs quit 3/4 of the way. So Im needing the extra 10 to 20 HP to seal the deal.... can anybody help?
