I hate automatic transmissions!! i don't think anyone should even think about racing or tuning ANYTHING with an automatic transmission. I don't have anything against street racing i do it alot. But i have everything! against auto trannys.

when you say street racing do you mean going into 2 from a redline outta first and then slowing down??? or do you mean meeting someone up at a backroad and run the hell outta your car??? some people get confused and never have actually "street raced" before

O.K. This is easy.

1. Rev hard till you see smoke pour out from under the hood.
2. Get out of the car.
3. Smack yourself in the face as hard as you can.
4. Thank yourself for saving your life and/or someone else's.

If you get confused at any step, just repeat from step 3 until it make sense.

Ok, ok. First I wanna say, all of these post are right. It is kinda dumb.[Like taking a **** with your pants on]

But really, I saw no one really gave you any tips, so I guess I will.... You can either just floor it, or if your going already and wanna gain some speeed quicker, shift into D3 witch is 3rd so this will allow you to not shift up to forth yet. If you get to the point were your rev. limiter is gettin near that red zone go head n shift it to d4. weee.

But like others said, It is stupid to race on public streets but I guess I cant say it cuz ive been known to do it...[small town full of jerks...and big slow trucks]. But not like planned races, just race back to someones house or somtin lol.

Dont bother doing an auto-manual switch over. It's not worth it. You will never get the money back from the resale value. Just sell the civic and buy an Si 5spd.
