rip it all out, how many pounds
hey how many pounds do you think all get rid of if i rip out all the molding and seats -front seats back? and the a/c unit, jackand tire, flooring, head board and the heater. if i rip out the a/c and heater will i have to change to an smaller belt on the pullys. i have an 90 civic si hb ed7
you will prolly save close to 100 lbs....and the heater wont effect your belts, but if you take the A/C pully off, then yes, you will have to convert to a non a/c accesory belt...
The A/C belt should be seperate from everything else. Really that stuff doesn't weigh as much as you think it might, I took all the heater / air conditioner out of my '95 and put it in a box before scrapping the rest of the car, and it wasn't hard to lift that box.
leave most of that stuff in and drive comfortably and not so ghetto lookin
if u wana go fast, build the engine/suspension. u wont be losing enough weight to make a very dramatic difference.

thanks guy's i wasnt thinking all those things i was just going to get rid of everything thinking that it would help things and more HP. getto is right! i dont know, i was thinking roll bars i guess
thanks for help!
thanks for help!
the benefit of ripping all that stuff out is about the same as adding a CAI to your stock civic... the benefit is very small and it looks G-hetto... only do it if you are a hard core racer, and in that case, dont go with a Honda econobox get a 240 or RX7 or some other faster car lol... I just have one because I love the reliability, gas mileage, and ease to work on...
