Default Sealing the holes in a new civic chassis.

Hello Guys,
Would it be possible to seal the holes in the civic chassis with rubber grommit and seal the joints with automobile chalk ? I've noticed that rust forms in the chassis holes and it's impossible to remove the rust. Basically what i intend to do is to make it water tight. Honda does a lousy job of galvanising the metal when they are making the car. I have a 4 yr old civic, i rust proof it yearly and washes it after ever snow fall, somestimes twice weekly, but when i remove the bumper skin, it has rust on the rebar (crash bar). I know sometimes it impossible to prevent rust but you have to at least try. So let me know if it's a crazy idea. I plan to do this on a new civic and spray por15 before anything happens. I just like keeping things clean.

Thanks,
In advance.

i would nto worry about it that much.... newer cars have better rust protection and coatings on them from stock. and tho you main seal those holes BUT water and other dirt, road salt can squize thru a crack or other seam and then it would be trapped there and be even worse... and every time you got your car washed with the underbody wash then all that water would also be stuck and give you a sloshing sound... and if youve ever had a old car with clogged up drain holes and take it thru the car wash you know what kinda swishing water sounds you hear from start and stoping.LOL

so i would not try to seal them... just get regular car washes with the underbody option thats the best thing you can do. and still metal wont last forever!

Well.. You're right, but i was thinking of chalking the seams and plug the holes with rubber grommit. So no water can get in, basically making it water tight
