yes, it makes shifting much quicker and more fun. I also recommend polyurethane shift bushings. They're cheap, easy to install when you're down there messing with your linkage. They make a big diffrence too.

good to know.... I plan on getting a Skunk2 double bend, and that was the one thing that worried me

no, just remove the shifter heat shield by removing the four bolts, or just notch the area out that the shifter is hitting it.
