i have a 92 cx with 165,000 miles on it. it just berlly did not pass. i was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to get it to pass?

 

My guess is a bad catalytic converter. Are you getting any CEL's?

 

Why didn't it pass? What test did it fail?

Of course you need to have the engine running smoothly with no CEL first.

 

it runs great but the hc co were just a little to high and they said that my short ram intake wasillegal. ho and what is a CEL?

 

Since both of us live in California. We need AEM, Injen or K&N Typhoon..Those 3 company's are all CARB legal but if you remove the CARB sticker automatically the intake becomes ILLEGAL..

You can install illegal parts. But if you get caught racing and open your and see all those illegal parts..More likely you wont get your car back..If you do get it back it will all be stripped down to stock..There are a couple of city's around me where I live..If caught racing there Oh you wont get your car back. IT will get CRUSHED in the junk yard just they way they took it from you. They invite you also to see the crushing of your car. Even some DUI check points also inspect for modded vehicles.

I'm just running legal parts I don't want to be the next victim in LINE..lol..Cali is real strict for emission testing. Its one of the toughest states in the country
