supercharged 06 civics?

Am I right in thinking that your new si has the same k20 200bhp lump that we have in our old ep shape type r civics? If so i have noticed a few members here wondering when a turbo/supercharger kit will be available for the si, which leads me to this.
I have just been looking through an old jap tuning magazine and noticed a civic type-r feature in which a uk forum took to the strip in their civics, quite a few of them were running high 13's with a jackson racing s/c producing 290bhp, only problem was that they couldnt get anymore power because an intercooler hadnt been developed yet. surely somebody has put this kit on your new usdm si's?

yeah, the JR supercharger is a roots style blower that basically replaces the intake manifold and directly bolts to the block... making it hard to intercool. It can be done but its a lot of custom work and custom work equals money, haha. Also with the limited space under the hood it makes it even harder.

Also, you can make just about any turbo fit any engine... all it takes is some custom bent piping and you're set.

polo, normally you dont need an intercooler for s/c's right?

NORMALLY you dont get them with roots style/twin screw superchargers because of the way they are mounted (but the new S/C'd cobalt SS's have them) but they are very common on centrifugal types. With a positive displacment supercharger usually your boost levels are pretty low and an IC isn't really needed but centrifugal types are very similar to turbos so thats when you normally see them.
