Hey guys i recently got a 93 honda civic dx and when I bought it my friend said the ac idle pulley needed replacing(he's a close friend he wouldnt lie) and had a mechanic check it out and confirmed. It does make the rattling/whiney noise, which is the usual symptom. But also when im in idle it'll get low(maybe 250 rpms?) but then it'll surge up to about 1000 and down back to 250 constantly. Would this have anything to do with that pulley?If not, any suggestions? I heard cleaning the IACV would help? It doesn't matter if its in neutral, drive, or park it stays the same. I noticed on cold nights it isnt as bad but when my ac is off it's totally fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
