Yes defiantly!!!! If its the original belt it's a MUST...It could go out any time and change the water pump as well..[&:]

Holy crap, lol. Yeah get that changed ASAP! If it breaks your pistons will hit your valves and pretty much screw your engine over.

Depends on the year of your Civic. My 2004 calls for a timing belt replacement at 110,000 miles. Check your owner's manual to see what's required for your specific vehicle.

I would do it if I were you. I have a 99 Ex, and I had mine replaced as soon as I bought the car with 126k on it. Just dont want to take the chance. My buddy has a 97 Prelude and he waited until 150k to do his, that's when you think, "Is my car going to DIE on me on my way to work? Or on the way back?" lol...

But yea everyone should get theres done around 100,000 just a rule of thumb. Especially if you drive your car hard or spiritedly. I bought my car from a private seller and didn't know if it was changed or not, when I got it it had 90,000 so I was suspecting not and got it done anyways. It's kind of expensive usually $400-500 dollars but well worth it cause they upgrade the water pump,do a coolant flush, and usually the a/c belt and adjust the valves. Depending on who you go to of course.

When I got my car I bought it at 165K... and never a timing belt change!!! The belts can SOMETIMES last a while, but still the only place i drove it is to my garage a few miles away and CHANGED it. You do not want to run the risk of it breaking; I try and change mine every 80 - 85K.

Time will deteriorate a belt too even if you don't put a lot of miles on it. The original one on a 2000 model is now at least 7 years old. I'd replace it in any case.
