Okay, first off, I'm going to warn you that there is about a 90% chance that you will end up disliking your painted interior within a year of painting it. Talk to anyone who's ever painted the interior of a civic, and chances are they'll tell you they regretted it. It looks great until you have to see it everyday; that's just how it goes. If you still want to paint it, the best thing to do is use vinyl dye. It "soaks in" to the trim, so it won't peel or anything. Another method (the one that I personally used) is to use a paint designed for plastic; I used Krylon Fusion. I rocked a bright blue interior for almost two years with no chipping or peeling.

ya i'm with reaper /\ that most people do regret it cuz the paint doesn't always stick to the vinyl. i've seen way too many attempts that turned out bad to recomend doing it. If you want to paint the plastics for accents then thats easier too do it and comes out a lot better than the vinyl just make sure you use plastic paint. also before you paint it sand off all the top layer of the plastic so that it is not shiny anymore. when you do this it makes the paint stick a lot better. paint 2-3 layers of the color then finish it with 3-4 layer of clear so that the paint doesn't wear off. i did this to my car about 2 years ago and it still looks good.

^ditto about everything.

I did mine blue, it's all chipping because I didn't sand. It's all going to be redone black this summer.[:@]

There are spray paints made especially for plastics, I suggest those, and clear coat like no tomorrow!!!

Im debating what type of color to go with, with a silver car. I was thinking about white or black. But idk how good the black will look agaisnt the "gray" in the car or w/e color they call it. Any suggestions wut color to go with for a silver car.

i think you should try silver so it matches the exterior color. but if you are between black and white I think white would look better. and as i said before sand and clear coat

I just didnt think silver would turn out that well and would turn out to be more gray than anything , unless i can find a paint that works well and is a nice silver. Is it ...

-Sand
-Prime
-Spray Paint
-Clear Coat

?? And what grit sand paper?

i've seen silver done and as long as its not the chrome silver stuff it will look good. use something kinda rough like 600 or 800 to take off the shiny coat. spray a couple of layers thenwet sand it withsomething smoother like 1200 or even 1500 then spray a couple of more coats let that dry completely for 24 hours or however the paind directions say then spray the clear coats and do a lot of them.

so its:
sand - 600 or 800 grit regular sandpaper
primer - 2 or 3 coats
wet sand - 1200 or 1500 grit wetsanding paper
paint - 2-3 coats or more
clear - 3,4, or more coats

good luck, and your prolly gonna go a couple of days withour all of the panels you are painting so its best if you do it at a time when you dont have work or school or nothin like that for 2 or 3 days. but if you cant get that then just be prepared to drive without the panels
