Valve Cover Air Filter Question?

so what exactly do you have to do? plug the intake nipple and add a small air filter to the pcv valve? does this make it so no oil or anything gets into the tb? or is it just for looks? or lets the engine breathe better? thanks

The PCV system is designed to suck oily polluted air out of the bottom of the engine and send it to the intake where it will go through and burn it up. This is one of the first emission control systems, dating back to the early 70's. Old cars just had a simple vented crankcase and the vent would put out HC pollution and drops of oil onto the road.

This air must be replaced by clean air that goes into the top of the engine. On the stock system it was tapped off of the filtered air from the filter box. If your intake doesn't have a tap you need a separate little filter. Any dust coming in will mix with the oil and cause severe wear.

so by a tap you mean the nipple? so if it has one i cant use a filter?

You should leave it connected to the tap or nipple like it is in your picture.
