Vortex Valve

Has anyone ever heard of this? It's supposed to increase power and improve fuel economy.

Or is this some type of car gimmick?

It's a gimmick. A very old one. Think about it, wouldn't they be built into every car at the factory if they really worked?

the only proven thing to dramatically increase your gas mileage, is driving like an old lady.

no adapter, valve, or any other BS is going to increase your fuel economy in any significant manner.

i'm sure there'll be some ensuing arguement how IHE gives you better gas mileage, but any increase is negligible in the scope of things (yes a 3% increase is a 3% increase, but a 3% increase is 1mpg on a car that gets 30mpg)

but everyone will agree, these sort of things don't work. (i'm sure at some point, this discussion will point to mythbusters as the primary source for information proving they don't work)

Has anyone used this first hand and from that experience known it to not work?

Be "the man" run a test. do a dyno, before and after, and guage your gas milage honetly and see if it works. That's the only way to really know. But yeah one of these comes out every other year or so. They sell them in auto stores here in Japan but They don't seem to do well in the sales department.

There have been many many tests done. They do not work. They work on the "It seams like it should" principle. LOL Read THIS. It should answer all of your questions.

lmfao. i remember this thread from months back lol. some guy wanted to buy it off of ebay for like $10. it said something along the lines of "get 20 HP and double gas mileage!" LMFAO

i just visited the site you posted, and saw the instructions:

Make sure the engine is off. Always wear gloves when working on machinery that is not running.

lol. does that mean you SHOULDN'T wear gloves when working on a running engine?
