Talking What constitutes "rice"?

Ok,so i keep seeing the term "rice" being thrown aorund a lot here, but it seems like everyone has a different opinion on what it implies. So i wanted to know what "rice" means to everyone here, and pretty much what someone has to do to avoid the dreaded term...

rice applies to any car:

obnoxious wing
rear spoiler mounted on hood
low profile spoiler mounted in front of rear wing
coffee can fart exhaust or just a really cheap raspy exhaust
obnoxious decals and badges
cheap headlights/tail lights
99% of all body kits out there(lip kits are fine)
big vented hoods
neon/underglow
painted interior
gps systems(yes rice. Who needs a gps unit that is more hassle than it's worth and it's ridiculously expensive)
mixed body colors(hood primer, side panel one color, door one color, rear trunk primer, rims flaked painting)
missing hoods

Oh come on man, that's not rice! That is incredibly insane...and it makes me giggle inside. My idea of rice is basically the same as inthezoneac's.

huge muffler
lots of vinyls on the side
big spoilers
basically anything that draws a ton of attention to the car

Though I do like underglows, so long as they're 1 solid color and don't flash or any of that jazz. I've seen some low profile ones that were really nice.

there isn't really any exact definition. Rice is more of a mentality than anything. If you think a wing or a spoiler adds like 20 hp and you're racing from light to light, you're a ricer. If you realize you're driving a stock Honda Civic with 106 horsepower and that most cars on the street will beat yours no matter how many stickers you slap on that thing, than you're fine.

Hmmmm...i see..wait,spoiler on the hood?!?!?!Who the hell does that?

And that pic with the huge wheels, believe it or not i used to see a lot of those in florida when i lived there..i once asked a guy why they did it and they said because they could afford the big rims...and i though "just because you can afford them doesn't mean you should put them on a car"....lol...

The definitive rice feature to me is that distinctive "bee in a can" exhaust. Go ahead and have all the stickers, spoilers, lights, etc. that you want because they're silent and don't bother me.

Ricer is like hood vents that are fake, ****ty exhausts, or having an exhaust with no added power. BIG BIG spoilers, a moderate one is fine. And yea like said before if you think your honda is fast while stock or near it.
