What do you think its worth?

Im considering selling my current civic sometime in the not to distant future. I have an idea of about how much its worth but i figured id post up on here and see what other people think.

The Good:

Interior:
Sparco Sprint Seats (x2)
Sparco Clubman 4Pt Harnesses (x2)
Sparco Flash 5 Steering Wheel
ITR Shift Knob and Short Shifter

Suspension:
Eibach Gold Line Springs
Ebay Strut Bars
Ebay H Brace
Rota Slip Stream wheels
Brembo slotted rotors with Hawk HPS pads on the front (stock on rear)

Engine:
B16A2 (12.5 compression ratio) Less than 20,000 miles since rebuild
CTR pistons (oversized 81.5mm)
Stock crank and rods
Ported B16 head with 3 angle value job
Exedy stage 1 clutch
Exedy light weight flywheel
Energy suspension shift bushing
Energy suspension motor mount inserts
JDM bronze shift linkage
Greddy 4-2-1 header
Tanabe exhaust
Generic cold air intake
CTR camshaft
AEM camgears

The Bad:
The reverse is out
Windshield has a big crack
Needs new tires
Needs new boot axle
Couple of messed up paint spots but still a good looking car

The Whatever:
Car is loud as hell
Interior is completely stripped, just has a dash

The cars pretty quick, I just took a friend that has a WRX for a ride and he said the car was faster than his. Although it only has springs the car actually handles great, im guessing cause its so lite. Post up how much you think i should sell it as is and also how much you think i should try to get for it if i fixed the problems. Thanks.

Is the fender dented or is that just the light hits it???

Forty04 08-16-2010 03:53 AM

I would not pay more than $1500 for that car

reaper2022 08-16-2010 04:16 AM

I'd give you about $2k tops considering what needs done to the car.

And I'd say a stock wrx would still be faster than that (no offense). I drive them on a regular basis and that DOHC turbo boxer is no joke.

N0safebetdx 08-16-2010 04:18 AM

See i was thinking 2g but then I saw the dent in the fender... I agree w/ Tony you prob won't get any more then 1500

I say list it for 2g because people will low ball you...

link32183 08-16-2010 04:52 AM

you have to remember that some ppl are scared of modification, so a stock car can go for more than yours. picking up someone's project can me a money pit. that is why everyone seems to say that price, the reality of it is, if you want to get 2k ish for that thing you are going to have to be prepaired to wait a while to sell it and turn down a few offers till you get what you want. $1500 isnt a bad price for that if it actualy works properly and is tuned. i would say buy an interior, get the problems fixed and sell it for more. a "turn key" car will sell better than one that has a list of things to fix. thats my thought on it:) good luck

trustdestruction 08-16-2010 10:47 AM

I wouldn't pay over $1000, for a few reasons:
•cracked windshield
•no reverse
•needs axle
•needs tires
•stripped interior

Funtington 08-16-2010 12:25 PM

Project cars are money pit's part out to people who are into tuning and take what ever you can get to get a fresh ride.

PunisherInOKC 08-16-2010 04:05 PM

Not many people would be interested in a stripped car. That killed it for me.
To make any kind of money off of that car, your going to have to find a dumb, young kid to sell it to.

Its just how the light is hitting it. I thought someone might ask.

Im not trying to bash your car knowledge or anything(seriously) but the car really is on par with a WRX, back when i first got it and wasnt to familiar with the car i raced one and stuck right with it. and like i said, my one friend has one and admitted my car was faster.

unfortunately i know im gonna have to find a car enthusiast or dumb kid to buy the car. preferably another enthusiast but itll probably endup being a dumb kid lol.

btw thanks for all the responses, i posted this up on another civic forum and noone said ****.

NIKE H34D 08-17-2010 05:51 AM

Its gonna be one really unlucky dumb kid to buy this lol

i know the car might not look like much but it performs better than you think, trust me.

Forty04 08-19-2010 03:19 AM

You said that you had an idea of what it is worth. Why don't you tell us what YOU think it's worth, and we'll pick up the conversation from there?

I think they're referencing the problems the car has along with the stripped interior.

And honestly, you'll probably get more money parting the car out (selling the drivetrain, seats, etc and then selling the rolling shell) than you will outright selling the car.

fair enough, i was thinking 2000 to 3000, wide range i know, but thats why i got on here. btw how much you would all think if i fixed the car up? windshield, axle, reverse, and found some interior?

not a bad idea, i hadnt considered that.

I think the part out is your best bet, honestly..

But, if you had a full (and CLEAN) interior in there, and fixed the mechanical issues, you might be able to get something in the neighborhood of $2200.

The main issue is that it's modded. To you that might seem like a good thing, but no one wants to buy someone else's problem (err, Project). Mods don't had to resale value, unless you've TT'd a Lambo :D

KingDakota12 08-20-2010 05:52 AM

Honestly the stripped interior killed it for me. Kids love Civic's because they are excellent project cars, and the interior and massive Tach is a turn off. All in all $1500 TOPS.

SPLAT 08-20-2010 01:08 PM

cracked windshield
no reverse
needs axle
needs tires

Just because of this, i would say $1500.

Only because in N.Y......i dont know about your state, this would fail the N.Y. inspection.

NIKE H34D 08-20-2010 06:55 PM

Id definately say part it out and sell the shell, cuz I doubt you will be able to get 2000 for it....

KingDakota12 08-20-2010 07:10 PM

Maybe even look for another car at least I would.

Korea 08-20-2010 10:08 PM

alright well thanks guys for the ideas, i hadnt even considered parting out til now.

chrismag 08-27-2010 01:01 AM

yea, i would offer 1200 or around that area if i had the money to just throw around

goddarsl33 08-27-2010 06:38 AM

I would put it up for 2,000 and give a little leadway for negotiation.
