Default what engine

i was thinking of buying this 92 civic ex but i wanted to know can anyone tell if its a vtec or even what engine is it. thanks http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2674314

I think it's the d16z6...yes, it does have vtec

you should be able to see the engine code on the engine block..then, just look it up here:

hell yeah !! im gonna buy it then thanks so much but ok il check it out im going over right now.I was thinking of doing a d16y8 head and an h22 throtle body sould i or sould i just leave it.

also i know its been brought up alot but sould i get a mugen chip for it. Im trying to get the most out of it possible for $1000 $1300 range i want to booast but idk if i can get it for that cheap.

Hm, I really don't know...But if your're REALLY wanting to get the most out of it, boost it.
Or do an engine swap.
Then boost it.

im most likley gonna boost the engine it has do u think i sould it has 180,000 miles but if i do boost it i need someone to tell me if i can get all the parts for like $1000 i can install it and everything myself but anyway i just bought it and sold my 89 hatchback so anyone that can help me decide on what to do it will be much appreciated

I probably wouldn't boost it with that much wear on the engine...unless you rebuild it...then, it'll be as good as new...
and,
I wouldn't waste my money on a $1000 turbo kit...it probably wouldn't be as reliable as one the costs about 3-4k...I've heard about cheap ones that crack, or just fall apart while driving...so, in this case, more expensive=better quality.

Do a compression test. If all the cylinders are within 10% of each other, you're fine to boost away. And you can piece together a custom turbo kit for less than $1000. And I've heard that H-series throttle bodies are just as good as, if not better than, aftermarket.
