I'm researching new ways to identify mechanical failures in automotive engines using vibration data and wavelet analysis as part of my graduate research in mechanical engineering. I have a Honda Civic 05 that I plan on using for my experiments.

What are the most common mechanical problems for Honda Civics? What components on the Honda Civic are most critical to the safety of the car?
