Whats a Fair trade?

Ok right now I'm currently driving a Saturn SC2 with aroung 91k miles on it... A person that i know from work (i work for a small car dealership) that has, i believe a 1996 civic ex coupe manual. He used to drive and race the civic, but he blew his engine and is now selling it for 1500. There are some aftermarket upgrades on the car, im not sure the whole list of them as of now though. My question is...would it be a good offer for me to trade my saturn and 1000$ for his civic, if he can put a engine in it like a b18 ls or something similar, and get the car running strong?

How many miles are on his civic?
What's the tranny look like.
if he blew it, he most likely drove it pretty hard.
I'd be careful if i were you.
Who knows what else is wrong with it, or what could go wrong, maybe even things that he isn't aware of.

If people blow engines out of their cars because they like to race that means that car is pretty beat up, and if your saturn is still going strong I wouldnt trade it, but thats just my personal opinion. Like macbeth said the tranny is most likely in a rough shape as well unless he replaced it recently or something like that.

My brother had a saturn sc2 (huge money pit) at last he sold it and he bought a civic. Hes never been happier. But yeah your gonna have to spend more than that 1500 to get it running right
