Default What's your thoughts on......

Hi everyone!
I thought i'd enlist all of you knowledgable and what not people to give me your thoughts on the 2002 SiR.
Good, bad, or whatever, please leave your comments about it. I found a really good deal on one, and was wondering if I should go for it. Only things I really like about it is the size (nice and small), gas mileage (great), DOHC 160HP engine (yeh, what I want).
All comments are welcome.

I got an '02 Si and I love it. Its fun to drive and plenty of space. Love the shifter placement. Plus its fun smoking my buddy's 3000GT every time. I bought mine for $11k at an auction so there not expensive. Suprisingly good on insurance too. I say go for it but Im a little biased i guess.

Umm... what's the friggin' hold up?
Well, I told you the pros, now there are some cons............

I'm not really sure if I like the looks of em (in a way I do, and in a way, I don't)
I wasn't sure of the feeling of the shifter (but Si Jonny says it's good)
I didn't think there were very many add-ons for that style of Civic yet
Lastly, everyone will be hot to steal it for the enngine (I'd kinda like to know my car will be where I left it)

The looks do take some getting used to but so much room. The shifter does cut down on arm fatigue quite a bit. Pus its a very short distance from the wheel. True that there aren't alot of add-ons but more and more seem to pop up every day. As far as the whole stolen thing I can't tell you much there besides get a cover. I will admit i do get some envious stares occasionaly but no problems yet. But in the end its your decision. Good luck and hope you find something soon.

OK, I seriously have to think this thing out and make up my mind.

The main problem about getting it is the "theft" factor. I see a lot of the SiR's for sale around here that have a salvage title because they've been stolen and the engines have been stripped out of em. I know I can probably make it "theft proof", unless they tow the damn thing, but then I'd always be lookin at a damaged ignition and steering column. With all the stuff I got goin on, I need a very reliable ride, and I wand it to be there when I need it.

The other thing I was thinkin of, was getting either a 2000 Hatchback or a 2002 LX and doin an engine swap.......keepin it a sleeper, so I wouldn't have to worry about the "theft" factor.

I've got some thinking to do............
