Question Why is the MPG on my '05 Sedan so Unbelievably Poor?

Hi, all. Looking for guidance.

Bought a 2005 Sedan LX in Nov w 156,000 miles in as good a shape as any 7th Gen I've seen, if not better! Also, the previous owner took immaculate care of it, which Carfax confirms.

Why then am I averaging 24.6 MPG from the 6 fillups I've recorded since Dec when fuelly.com owners routinely report 30, 32 even 35 avg for their 2005's?

Even my last car, a '99 Sedan EX w 240,000 averaged 26 and it was a wreck!

What am I doing wrong? I don't get it? Can anyone help?
