Default Why so few Autocrossers?

Seems like as much money as most are putting in their cars there should be more people out at events. Autocross is one of the safest kinds of motorsports and I know there are regions all over the US hell there's two here in Oklahoma.

Seems like the main reason is that the sport is not widely known, it's more of a word of mouth type of thing. The auto-x scene is decent here in Vancouver, Canada. I myself auto-x my civic.

More people show off straight line speed on the streets rather than going around the course, I'll eventually autox but moneys goin to other things first. And I don't wanna blow my bearing eater y8. Once it's swapped and built I'll feel more comfortable.

Lol I've been autoxing on a bent frame and studs that don't go all the way through the lug nuts for 2 years now, but the studs are getting replaced friday. I've talked to a shop about getting the frame fixed also and I could lower it if I get that done. What class you run Stoochy?

Not really, most of the guys go down to the states for the big events, Such as Packwood and Wendover. The biggest event we have here is the Kumho Super Challenge, which is a 3 day event that draws over 100+ entries.

Unfortunately no, my driving skills aren't at that level yet , but it would be interesting to see. Some of the guys in my club are planning on going down, maybe i'll tag along.

Lol I'd go if you can afford it, nothing wrong with getting your feet wet. I went to a divisional event last year-which was about halfway through my first session- I was always in the top 5 in Novice class. Ended up 3rd from last getting my *** handed to me by guys who had been autoxing since before I was born, was a great experience tho and I learned a lot.
