Rims are rims. The difference is usually in summer tires and winter tires.

I have a set of "summer alloys" that are just aluminum rims that I like. Then I have a set of "winter alloys" that are also just aluminum, but they're ugly and I don't care what happens to them.

The "winter rims" are the ones that you don't care if they get slammed into a curb should you spin out in the snow and ice. Many people just use steel rims. Or a whole winter car.

Fair 'nough. Yesterday evening I asked the question of a retailer. Their response was, "Aluminum doesn't rust that way steel does (logical). Avoid chrome in winter since they tend to pit but otherwise, they're pretty much the same." Thanks for the input, folks. I'm opting for RTX's Hyogo (Roues RTX Wheels - HYOGO (Honda Civic) ) - pretty much stock (except for the center cap). Pretty darned affordable!

Just FYI (if anyone's interested to know): I did purchase the rims as decided (because I chose to keep the car looking "stock"). Had a few questions the retailer couldn't answer. Support from RTX was AWSOME!
