RE: Would a stock civic coupe take off faster than a stock mustang?
Back for the OP...I have a friend with a 2000 v6 automatic stang, and my 96 ex coupe with i/h/e will beat his in a straight line. Granted it all depends on drivers and all that crap, but against a 96-00 or whatever year those stangs were, the auto six is not fast at all.

I would say yes to a 94-98 V6 stang for certain.I raced one about2 years ago from 30-110. I led the whole way. Don't know if it was auto or manual...

And while we're on the topic of civic to V6 mustang performance. I dont suppose anyone here saw the last FordV6 performance challenge.
http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...nge/index.html
The winner has a built 94-98 style V6 mustang running 10.1 in the 1/4. Thats same guy now has it in the 9s.
and an NA V6 built to do high 11s.

Should probably be a lil more specific with the topic but if we are talking about a STOCK civic and a STOCK mustang, I think that the mustang would definitely take off faster. Now when we start talking about different modd scenarios then thats where the civic would have a shot.

I think like a 98 but could be a little older or a little newer. Its before the last body change in 2005. Its a 3.2 liter engine I think.

The more common stock mustangs (85+) only came in
2.3L, 2.3L turbo,3.8L, 4.0L, 5.0L, 5.4L, 5.8L

I would really like to know what kind of mustang has a 3.2L in it. Would it be the Mustang GTR, or Gts-T? I'm not sure...
