wait....what? I didn't even know that was possible. I've always wanted to go K in my hatch... maybe I should reconsider this H swap.

You need to keep us up to date on this swap and take TONS of pictures. If you make me feel a little better about doing a K-swap... maybe I'll change my mind on this H and continue this "Reaper" trend.

I plan on taking tons of pictures. Guy can't meet on sunday so i'll try saturday morning or just after the weekend.

The immobilizer kit is just 4 wires that are spliced into the ecu wires. I'll give you a link. Your speedo won't work if you get a 05 and up tranny unless you get a VSS kit that converts the MPH output into something your cluster can comprehend.

This isnt the cheapest one, but its a perfect example http://www.k-tuned.com/store/product...products_id=75

Got the motor today. I was stupid and didn't think to ask if the motor was from the base model rsx. It is. So that means its a K20a3. 160hp and 140tq. Not what I had in my head. I have a couple options now. 1. Sell it and buy a different K series. 2. Swap it as usual. 3. Swap it and sometime down the road and save for a2 cams, extra set of a3 rockers and Kpro to make a Killer vtec setup that has been dynoed at around 210whp stock.

You guys think it's a waste? Or worth it....

Okay so I thought about it all day at work and since it's such a clean low mile motor, I'm gonna keep it. I'll just go through the process of getting everything together to swap it over the next couple months. Once it's swapped I'll enjoy for a little while and then save for an OEM vtec killer setup and Kpro. Pics of the motor tomorrow!!!! Too dark right now.

Sell it and get an a2. Could've told you it was going to be an a3 anyway, a2s are 6 speed, every type s is.

Actually. I say get a k24 and put it in and when you get the money get an a2 head. Tons of low end power and torque with the k24.

Yeah of course I got a good deal. I wasn't ever looking to spend as much as an a2 costs in the first place. My original plan was to swap a k24 because of how cheap they are. I got just as good of a deal on this. A k24 only has an extra 20ft-lb of torque over the a3. Plus I really like this vtec killer idea. ~$200 not counting Kpro and you get about the same power as an a2. Along with the aggressive idle and all that stuff.

I figure the extra 1k i'll spend on kpro would have to be spent on an a2 with the same amount of mileage.

So with the budget I have, it's either sell this and get an a2 all stock somewhere online. Or keep the a3 and do those upgrades later on. Pretty much both around the same price.

Started taking off things I wont be needing like random brackets, exhaust manifold, etc. Removed the wiring harness. Gonna clean it up and remove anything I wont need.

Everything inside looks fresh and like it really only has 26k miles.

I'm new to the whole coil pack thing. It's kinda cool. No more distributors ftw.

On another note, should be sending the car in to be fixed and painted this week after I finish things up with the second insurance company.

Oh yeah, I also got my 8k h4h HID bulbs in the other day. Put both those and the ballasts in. Pics soon.

After I get the car back, I'll install the 8mm spacers I ordered for the front wheels.

Thanks.

Took the wiring harness off, cleaned it up, removed all the clips/zip ties, grommets and such. I don't mind the factory plastic and electrical tape as long as its clean.
