Well, heat wrap contains the heat within the manifold, thus lowering your engine bay temps. That is the whole point behind heat wrap... to lower your engine bay temps to reduce heat soak. In my tests, the exhaust gas temps were about 5x times hotter (compared to an aftermarket without wrap) as the wrap allowed the heat to stay in the manifold instead of being dispersed throughout the bay.

That and that the exhaust flows better through the constant temp of the header. The hotter temperature, the more constant flow and the gasses have lower density which means it'll be a lot more free flowing.

Update: Got another step out of the way. Purchased a PS & AC Delete kit from Karcepts. That is the last mechanical part of the engine that I need. Other than that, its just some small things like bolts or hose clamps.

This leaves me only needing axles, ecu, immobilizer bypass, conversion harness, radiator brackets, o2 sensor and an intermediate axle-shaft. My goal of having this in the car by the end of May is looking pretty respectable right now. Hope I get some parts soon.

Thanks man. Cant wait. I was a big fan of his sol as well. I'm not gonna be satisfied until this isn't my daily. Bout a year or so down the road I'm planning on buyin something else to drive. That way I can pull the motor and shave/tuck the bay and such. In the mean time, after the motor is in, I'm gonna save for KPro and throw a couple supporting mods on this engine like vtec killer cams, prb IM, etc...

I also need to paint some things and spruce up the car as well. Long way to go actually.

Yea...what do you have to paint now? Just like sun-spoted areas or somethin? If I remember correctly this thing was friggin clean when you got it right?

I meant like moldings, wiper arms, etc. The paint of the car itself is near perfect after I had it fixed.
