Reaper's Mustang Project (abridged version)
wow if a shop broke a sensor on my car id at least make him pay for the good sensors!!! that or id take his @ss to court and get the dealership price to replace what he broke and get paid!!!!!!!!!
it would be different if it was a friend helping you out. but if it was done by a real shop with a real invoice then id threaten to take him to court if he at least doesnt pay for the new sensors!!!!!

well, like I said before, it wasn't a shop, it was more of one of those back-yard mechanic deals; he has a small garage, air tools, a lift, etc, and he's been working on cars for... well... a long-a** time. But I was doing research on it since I got the call saying he had to break the sensors to get them out, and I guess sometimes the sensors get so corroded that they get in the way of the axles, and you can't push the axles in to get the c-clips out without removing the sensors... on a 7-year old car, it doesn't surprise me that the sensors were corroded. I'm not that mad about it anymore; I found out the book time for RR'ing both sensors is 0.8 hours, so it shouldn't be too hard to do myself.
Okay, little update. As soon as my turbo sale goes through I'll be ordering the boots/armrest cover, a rear seat delete kit, and new exhaust hangers.
The boots are to pretty much pretty-fy my interior, the rear seat delete kit basically replaces the rear seat-back/bench with carpet (saving something like 40lbs, but keeping the interior looking clean at the same time), and I need real exhaust hangers to replace the ghetto ones I had to fabricate. These will probably be the last big mods for a while until I get the money for my suspension setup. The suspension alone (not including the sway bars) is going to be somewhere around $1200, so me being a broke college student, it's going to be a while before I can afford it.

what's wrong with your car that you don't like? Valve adjustment isn't too expensive, a new radiator is a good excuse to go to an aluminum radiator, a new alternator shouldn't be too expensive, and 163k miles isn't much.
Isn't it an automatic? Why not swap to a 5-speed if you don't like it? It's not hard or expensive (~$1000, depending on what deals you find and what brands you get)

valve adjustment - free, it's very easy, just can take some time
radiator - $100 from the auto parts store
alternator - ~$165 from the auto parts store... remanufactured, does not include core charge. Probably ~$200 and you bring back your old alt. afterwards and get ~$30 back
