I'm actually leaning towards bronze. As much as I want black, I don't want the car to look like I'm running steelies all the time. And well, the car has had silver wheels since it came off the production line in 2000.

Good way to go on keeping the mustang.
The money it takes to swap and all the parts youd need to bring back most of the beaten up 240 shells would probably be equal to the price of a blower kit.
Blown mustang>240sx ca swap.
Best decision imo.

Idk if you stated this somewhere in the thread before but what year m3 are you getting?

I'm not sure on the exact year; I just know I plan on getting an e36. I'd like to get a 96-99 because of the extra 0.2 liters of displacement, but if I end up with a 92-95 with the 3.0l I'll be just as happy. Basically my criteria are it has to be an e36 M3 (Need the M lol) with under 100,000 miles and in at least half-decent shape. The dealership I want to work at when I graduate (Enthusiast Auto Group) actually has quite a few e36's in pristine condition (we're talking cars like this), so hopefully I get the job there (they're adding 6 bays this summer (I graduate wyotech in june), so they'll be hiring techs; my friend ryan talked to the owner last time he was in Cinci and apparently they're looking for people that either just have experience with BMWs or people fresh out of tech school that just want to work on BMWs, and it's apparently hard to find that, so hopefully I'll have a good chance to be hired

Yeah, like I said, I'm leaning towards bronze. Dupli-Color even makes bronze wheel-specific paint, so it works out

Also, project-related... I got bored, but instead of peeling the side vinyls (the stripes going down the doors that say "Mustang"), I decided to play around with my flash tuner. I mean, I paid $400 for the thing and I've only played with it once or twice, and even then I never really messed around with it. I changed the rear axle ratio to 3.73:1 to match my rear end gear (so the speedo/odo are now accurate again... I took it for a test drive to confirm), the two-step limiter was dropped to 2500rpm, the idle is now 700rpm, the rev-limiter was raised to 6k rpm (as opposed to the factory 5600), and that's about all I played with. There's still a few settings (spark across various rpm ranges as well as A/F ratio at WOT), but I don't feel safe messing with those until I've done some research to find out exactly what I'm doing lol

As for the side stripes, they'll come off on a warmer day. I'm thinking it'll be easier to peel them off when it's 60-70* as opposed to high 40's/low 50's lol

Will the e36 m3 be a cabriolet? is it going to see any dd time or is it just a garage queen?

Nah, I love me a hardtop coupe ... and it's going to be close to DD'd... I'll probably still have the mustang, and hopefully a fwd/awd winter DD, so I'll probably just end up sort of rotating cars every day. Funny you mention the garage queen thing... that's one of my pet peeves... why buy a car if you don't intend to drive it? If I had a Lotus Elise, you can bet I'd be in that thing as often as possible.

lol my mustang's red. It only looks orange in direct sunlight; and for some reason, I can never get a picture of the car when it's not sunny out lol. If you sit an actual orange mustang (paint code is competition orange) next to my (performance red, according to the paint code) mustang, you'll see the difference.

here's what the car looks like 90% of the time (indirect light):

(that picture's actually of the car the day I brought it home)

Anyway, I'll do a quick half-a**ed chop (since I suck at photo editing programs lol) and post it up in a few.

*edit: here's that crappy chop I promised. See? It's horrible. It's like I didn't even try

when I actually paint them, it's going to be darker than that, but I didn't feel like spending a half hour getting the color just right.
