Stu, read the edit; I apparently got done typing it right as you posted.

So let's say his engine has no wear and tear. That puts him at 108.8whp as a high number. So let's say he has full i/h/e. I'm sure you know that those gains aren't as easy as saying "oh, well an intake is 3-5hp, a header is ~5hp, and a cat-back is ~5hp.... that means my total gain is 13-15hp!", and that the average gain from i/h/e on an otherwise stock engine would be around 10-12whp. So let's add that to the earlier number of 109whp. 119-121whp, which is less than the number of 127 I was originally saying was too low to be making "ricer" comments. Hell, just for s**ts and giggles we'll throw in a stage II cam and upgraded valvetrain. So now he's at 130-135whp. Let's throw on an intake manifold; since it's already cammed, the gains will be around 10whp for the mani. 140-145whp. That's still lower than what I'm putting down, which means he still has no room to be making ricer comments (yes, josh, I know you were joking. I'm arguing principles here, not literal meanings of posts).

And josh, marcus... y so srs? Stu and I are having fun

It might be a brick, but it can go faster than the ~120mph governer on a 6th gen civic... but for legal reasons I feel the need to say I don't know how I know my mustang can get up to speeds in excess of 120mph. I'd also like to go on record as saying I never drive above the speed limit.

My mustang doesn't have a governer

But I bet josh does though. And why are we bringing you into this? Do you want me to start on your z6? It came out of the factory with even less power than josh's y8... mods or not, I still put down more power

If we want to get into it, I've had three true kills in the last month:
1) Nissan Maxima GLE (222bhp stock)
2) Nissan 240sx (155bhp stock)
3) Honda civic ex (6th gen) (as we've already covered, 127bhp stock)

In order of who lost by the least:
240sx, maxima, civic

Since we did a break-down (and imaginary mods) to josh's car, let's do the same to mine. 193bhp stock. Figuring in the same 15% drivetrain loss, that's 165rwhp. Add an intake (~5rwhp on the 3.8), off-road h-pipe and 2.5" duals (~12rwhp), and tuner (~10rwhp gain using my 91 octane tune). That puts me around 192rwhp as an estimate. Also, I have a LSD and a 3.73 rear end gear; they don't add power, but they help with my launch, as well as the all-around acceleration

Here's what I accomplished today... I cut down the tall factory antenna and made it into a 13" shorty antenna... I also whipped out the VHT NiteShades and smoked out the running pony in the grille

The next batch of pictures will probably be tuesday or wednesday, depending on when I get my club vinyls. The next one after that will be friday, and hopefully another one sunday when I (hopefully) get the longtube headers and high-flow cats installed and my H-pipe modified to fit. I also may or may not have a set of GT exhaust tips on the way (still working out a deal), as well as the workings of a pieced together fog light kit and some GT side scoops.

*edit: I'm also probably going to work on modifying my hood at the end of the month (I have a down week where I don't have class between semesters)... the only thing I don't like about it is I'll have to have hood pins to keep things nice and safe (I'm not about to cut apart a hood and trust it to stay together by itself lol)
