Nah, redfire doesn't look orange in direct sunlight... besides, the 2000 Cobra R was painted in Performance Red. If it's a good enough color for the '00R, it's good enough for me

Gah... guy still hasn't gotten back to me with a shipping quote on the wing. I'm thinking he should get it to me early this week though; apparently he's been busy at work, which is completely understandable.

Also, the carbon fiber winglets I've been talking about? Yeah, the guy wants $55 shipped; just under half what they retail brand-new for. So I'm going to have the complete wing for a little over half MSRP... gotta love used parts

 

Bumpdate. The wing is $120 shipped, like I said, the winglets are $55 shipped. I'm buying the wing for half MSRP

Anyway, payment sent for the wing, hopefully UPS can get it to me before the week's out. I'm still waiting on a reply from the dude with the winglets. Assuming I can get both before the week's out, I might be motivated enough to wash/wax the car and do a short photoshoot, dented door and all

*edit: wing'll be shipped out either today or tomorrow, I should have the tracking number tomorrow. No word on the winglets yet, but that's not a huge deal; hopefully I'll get a reply from the guy later today or tomorrow morning. The only problem is I can't put the wing on without the winglets or it'll look retarded (again, I've seen pics of it without the winglets and DO NOT WANT).

 

Well, the winglets are probably going to be shipped out tomorrow, USPS. No word on the wing itself, though... I just sent the guy a PM to find out what's going on with that. I'm still hoping I can have everything on the car by the 19th in time for me to go on vacation... 6-hour drive one way admiring my new wing in the rear-view the whole time ftw

But thanks... I've been really bored with the mustang for the last few months due to me not buying anything for it, so the wing should help with that a lot. It's black, and will need re-painted. I'm thinking I'll probably have it painted to match, but for now, I'm not going to touch the paint (assuming it isn't absolutely terrible). The winglets (the little vertical pieces that go on the ends) are carbon fiber, so no paint shall touch those

Yeah, I'm kind of torn on the spoiler color. I think black would look good, but then you wouldn't notice the CF winglets. But if I do red to match, it won't stand out that much.

And I'd rock an EK hatch... I wouldn't do a straight-up trade for one, but I'd rock one

 

Haha well by golly ill give u an atm EK hatch with beat up black hx's, sh!tty tails, crappy exhaust, and beat up bumpers for that sexy thang!

 

Only if you're okay with a dented door and fender, mis-matched paint, front clip haphazardly put on (like the paint, the guy before me did this), and "tweaked" front suspension. Oh, don't forget the slightly bent wheel(s)

Oh, and at stock height the exhaust still drags sometimes. That's why it's getting skid plates installed on the headers when it's lowered... the exhaust dragging I can stand, but I don't feel like ripping the welds clean off a flange should the flange catch on something... at least with skid plates it's a smooth surface lol
