The intake and exhaust are from a y7. Are you sure there is a VTEC solenoid? Just because it has a VTEC valve cover doesn't mean it has VTEC.

well it is a vtec block, it says y8 on the block. I've only assumed that it was also a vtec head too because of the valve cover. where would the solenoid be?

edit - and i knew the exhaust was from a y7 b/c of the stupid exhaust manifold/cat combo...

So, I just looked under the hood again. Its a y7 block. There is no vtec. Just a stupid vtec valve cover. I'm not really sure why I was so convinced that it said y8 on it. I need to get more sleep these days...

also, the transmission says y4f or something like that on it, any clue what year its from?

thats more like it. sounds to me like I have an EX transmission with a DX motor (and an EX valve cover)

I need to start a profile on honda-tech, especially considering how dead HCF is these days. It makes me sad, because when I joined, HCF was the place to be

I'm gonna need as much help as I can get if Im gonna be doing this K-swap (eventually)
