do you know how exactly he went about shaving the front holes? I was planning on doing mine, but I'm not sure the best way to go about it.

Finished product looks amazing man. Always loved a white ek with black housings.

ya he shaved down the lumps that are around the threaded part of the bumper so that they were flat. He put a mesh backing behind the bumper, then filled the holes in with a plastic epoxy. Since the holes are so small and he used the plastic epoxy on both the front and back of the bumper it is super strong. Then just sand the epoxy smooth and paint.

The mesh backing is the same type of suff used to patch drywall. you can get it at any autobody shop or the stuff a home improvement store would also work fine just make sure its a pretty tight mesh. And as far as the exact type of epoxy, i'm not really sure what it is. All I know is that it was made to stick to plastics, so it works well with urethane bumpers.

The other method that I have heard of people doing is using fiberglass, but I have never tried it.

ya shandles is exactly right. Cops here dont let that slide. It's not worth risking the ticket. I have had a few friends get pulled over specifically for not having license plate

I recently had a friend get pulled over (and later searched) because his front plate wasn't attached to his bumper... it was on his dash, in clear view through the windshield.

I was planning on shaving the holes myself when I rattle can my car this summer (along with the two H wholes on my rear hatch... which is just a matter of welding and paint)

thanks for the info! I'm sure I could do it myself with a dremmel...

Fiberglassing it would be really easy. And to weld the trunk holes, just pull a nail through the hole and tack weld it. It is what I've been doing for shaving my bay, makes it really easy.

I front plate is required in WI. My car attracts enough attention from the police as it is, don't want to give them another reason for them to pull me over!

Hey sigracer...your in Austin right? I thought for the most part cops up there are relatively chill? Joking completely...I saw at least 4 or 5 tuners pulled over the other day on my way down here (back home to SA for spring break/work-a-lot break) and none of them had been speeding that I saw, since I was passing them and they I and back and forth throughout the bumper-to-bumper traffic , so idk why they were pulled over (btw they were all riced out civics and accords but seemed to be all street legal).
