heh, yeah, i know thoughs without even clicking the link... just a bit nervous about cutting that large of a hole in my new hood

Shandles 06-01-2012 12:15 PM

its better than your new hood destroying the windshield frame and possibly totaling your car ;)

Oh yeah I get that, just it's easier to get a round hole right rather than the spot needed for thouse

Shandles 06-02-2012 05:35 PM

yeah, but the round ones only look good on old muscle cars. Tuners were using them in the 90's with enormous body kits and lambo doors. They look like **** on civics, but thats just my opinion.

been a while since ive posted anything... had many off and on problems, mostly engine related. So, I'm getting a new motor with tax money.... im thinking 2 options...

1. theres a guy localy that has a fresh rebuilt d16z6 for 800. mostly oem honda parts except for bolts, bearing, head studs, valve springs and a crowler stage 1 cam.... get that and turbo parts... i happen to have a Saab 900 turbo laying around that should work nicely

2. order this HMO - b16a swap kit. though i do have a few questions about that... is there anything else i will need to go with that? keep in mind my cars currently an auto, but i do have the 99% of the parts to do the auto-manual conversion for a d series.

You will need a LHD wire harness, EX ones work great. And then new timing belt and valve cover seal/that one cam seal by the distributor. That is all I needed when i got the complete swap from them.

If I HAD to choose, I would go with the B16 from Hmotors. People can tell you anything they want about the motor and what's inside. Fresh rebuild to me means he either ran out of money and cut corners, or something didn't look/wasn't running right and he pulled the motor. If he just rebuilt a motor 100%, why wouldn't he put it in a nice shell and DD it, or sell the car?

The stock harness should work with no problems. You just have to cut and extend a few wires, plus add VTEC. Sounds like you understand what you have to do. ;)
